Quality and Testing at Unidil

testing newIn addition to implementing ISO standards, Uni Dil maintains product quality through in-house laboratory facilities for product testing. The laboratory facilities allow Uni Dil customers to develop customised packaging solutions that can be first tested for suitability, before being used. This reduced the risk of business losses for the customer.

Testing Methods

 

ECT (Edge Crush Test)

The Edge Crush Test is a laboratory test method that is used to measure the cross direction crushing of corrugated boards. A sample test gives information on the ability of a particular board construction to resist crushing.

 

RCT (Ring Crush Test)

This is a test to measure the edgewise crush resistance. The test is applied by forming the paper into a cylinder and applying a crushing force to the edge.

 

FCT (Flat Crush Test)

This is a measure of the resistance of flutes of a corrugated flute board to the pressure applied perpendicularly to the surface. Typically at the ambient condition of the environment.

 

BCT (Box compression Test)

The Box Compression Test measures the compressive strength of corrugated carton boxes. It usually provides a plot of deformation of compressive force. It is commonly used to evaluate carton stacking level without bulge.

 

GSM (Grams per Square Meter)

Expressed in grams per square meter (g/m2), paper density is also known as grammage. Corrugated board or carton weight depends on this factor.

 

BST (Bursting Strength Test)

A measure of the ability of a corrugated paper to withstand pressure without rupture. It is the hydraulic pressure required to burst a vessel of given thickness. Burst strength depends largely on the tensile strength and extensibility of the paper.
